ESC4000 G2 NO GO from Asus. Really dissapointed.

Well, finally Asus answered, but with a big negative response.

It's hard to believe that a company that spends so many dollars sponsoring overclocking events with liquid nitrogen (which nobody uses) can't donate a barebones used server that has a retail value of $1700 to help out in the research for cures to cancer and other illness. Their  cost is much lower.

Once BOINC users hear how effective a ESC4000 G2 server is for helping out in the World Community Grid,  Folding@Home and GPUGRID, the purchase of these servers would go up.  Right now the use of the Supermicro AMD 4P motherboard is widely used for this purposes and that motherboard is $640 retail price. Word of mouth is a great way to advertise.

That is why I appreciate Nvidia donating over $12,000, AMD donating $5,000, Silvertsone and Micron. They heard my request and immediately responded. No paperwork involved whatsoever. These are the companies that you have to backup.

AMD and Supermicro were the first to help followed by Nvidia.

Again,  what a let down from Asus.
