Got the MSI motherboard today and installed the CPU and started testing.
I can't believe that MSI would sell a motherboard that would not work correctly out of the box. I was having trouble with restarts, it would not reset. I had to download a new BIOS for the motherboard and then it worked correctly.
Another thing, it would not work or it would not install the drivers under Windows 8.1. Had to install Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. Then everything worked.
Got 4 gpu's installed right now with risers. All working okay for now. Should be receiving one of the RMA gpu's from EVGA next week and the other the following week and then I will have all installed.
The HD 7970 that I bought used seems that it's not working the way it should. What a problem! It will not start unless I disconnect and connect and it's a problem. Doesn't mean I won't get another. When I did get it to work, it crunched like mad for MilkyWay@Home. Very impressive.
Here's the setup the way it looks with four gpu's working.
