HP and Sapphire have answered my emails. Now I need to wait to see what the final decision will be on their part. I really hope they come through. I can just imagine what a dedicated two Intel V2 cpu will do for this project, plus the Sapphire GPU card, that would be awesome!!!
The AMD processor has the AVX instruction set, but it uses it in another way. It takes an Intel cpu about 9 minutes to process, but the AMD can take up to 20 minutes because it uses one core for AVX and then another core for another thing and that holds it up.
I have also seen the Dell R820. That is a 4 cpu server. That server would also be super beneficial for this effort. World Community Grid and Primegrid would benefit from these cpu cores.
Just hope this happens, really. ☺☺☺☺☺
