AMD HD 6850

Just ordered two HD 6850 (960 streams) for the DL360 server.  Might have to do a modification to fit it, but once I do the modification, I will post it here.

Went with this GPU because it has 960 streams and it uses one 6 pin connector, plus it's not a long card. Price was about $46 each for this project.  This car will outperform the Quadro FX 3800 that is installed right now in the server. Just need to modify it so that it fits.

What needs to be modified is the gpu bracket. It has to be cut to a single slot size and the DVI connector has to be cut off also.  Sounds hard, but not really.

The other card is a Radeon HD 6850 HIS. It's the same gpu but with a different body.  I am assuming that it will take the same procedure to get it to fit. The blue case is just for looks, I hope.

9-3-2016 UPDATE

Got both cards installed in a computer to see how they are working before doing the mod.  They are working okay so far. Will be doing the mod next week.  Need to see if the cards will fit lengthwise.
